Come by and see for yourself.
We are located at Kreuzberg in Berlin.

We don't know, if we are a good company. But we really try to be.

But we know: We are in very good company with our awesome team.

As an independent and owner-managed creative agency we are not obliged to any networks, CCOs or boards of directors. We are only commited to our clients and employees. But that with heart, soul and determination.

And so we created our own agency world, and made MOTOR for all team mates the place-to-be-themselves. With industry-usual foosball table, espresso machine and agency dog. And an industry-unusual work-life balance.

We strictly adhere to our own quota guidelines: maximum zero percent jerks at MOTOR. Apart from that, we are quite open-minded: Everyone should have their own mind and their own opinion. From Bielefeld to Mexico, from Grinch to Happy Hippo, from Borussia Dortmund to FC Bayern - everyone is unique at MOTOR. Uniquely nice.

Sandra

Volker

According to the tree horoscope, Sandra is a chestnut person who acts with wise foresight. It must have been this foresight that guided her actions when she rooted herself in one of her first advertising jobs with the young Volker, at a time when there were neither engines nor smartphones. Initially, however, Sandra continues on her own to plow through the international creative world. Sometimes firmly, sometimes freely, sometimes here, sometimes there, but always with a green thumb. She sows ideas and creates connecting shortcuts between people and brands. Here she meets Volker again - now together with Feli and their agency. Mere coincidence or wise foresight? A thought grows and thrives - and finally bears fruit: Sandra becomes Director for Operations & Culture at MOTOR. By the way, Sandra can not only optimize agency processes with skilled touches. She also regularly flourishes in her own plot. There are even rumors that she has planted a
chestnut tree there.

Volker is a typical Berliner - being not from Berlin. But he is not just any Berliner. That's why he doesn't have one migration background, but three: born in the Ländle, the teenage years in Dortmund and finally grown up in Northern Germany. There's no question that the man has worked his way up from the bottom. He reached a height of 2.02 metres. That’s impressive, even before he starts talking. Talking of speaking: this is, where he achieves the physically impossible: communicating from above at eye level. That's why he is also a giant as a boss, having always everything in sight. And he doesn't just take care of the bigger picture, but also of the small everyday concerns of his team mates. In short: he makes sure that everything runs smoothly. Ok, maybe that is not so typical Berlin after all.

It sounds like one of the great Heimatfilms: Salzburg. Sun. Beginning of spring. Frederik, youngest son of an advertising dynasty, sees the light of day. And out of the window the Alps. But from an early age he prefers to look at the peaks of advertising. Instead of Arthouse, he was fascinated by Art Direction. Consequently, he makes a cut – and moves to Munich, finding the role of his life as a graphic designer. Only the sets do not yet match his ideas. The agencies are real blockbusters, but he wants to direct them himself. So in 2010 he wrote his own screenplay and founded MOTOR. And since then he has been directing staff and projects confidently through his own film. The credits are still a long way off. But now every working day has a happy end.

Thu

Tadaaaa: Thu. Just reading her name, you think of a list. And yes, that’s how she is: she just does it. For instance: Milan or Miami? Thu does both—and simultaneously. If you think we've hired a magician, you wouldn't be entirely wrong. But at MOTOR, we call this position Art Director. Thu honed her skills with the magic wand and the magic eraser at the Ad School – yes, the Miami Ad School … caught you. But she really was in Milan. Just like in Ghent, Paris, and Copenhagen. Shaped by the international agency scene, it's easy for her to pull concepts out of a hat and assets up her sleeve.

Yet Thu's fantastic world has a double bottom, leading us directly to her grim hobby: the scientific investigation of the apocalypse. Honestly, we were too afraid to probe further. But perhaps it's not necessary to know all the magic secrets.

If Jan were writing this text about himself, there’d be a clever line here summing up his life, pitching him to us as one heck of a guy.

This would be the spot for a brief description with relevant details. Like the fact that he's from Hanau. And that he's seen and shaped many big and small agencies. We'd learn that he named his dachshund Lord Fuchur and that scratch cards are his guilty pleasure. But most importantly, it would mention how relieved he is in his new role to not have to write everything himself, because he's almost better at conceptualizing, presenting, and organizing.

And now, he’d surely have started a charming concluding paragraph. Something about how great it is that he doesn't write at MOTOR now. But as philosopher Ronan Keating said: You say it best when you say nothing at all.

Stef

Volker

We weren't there, of course, but we can't imagine Stef as a child as anything other than a blend of Super Mario and Botticelli's Venus. Even today, in his overalls, he just looks picture-perfect, always finding us the bonus level in every project.

"Let's-a-go!" is not just Stef's personal motto. After his studies in Weimar, he bounced from one creative agency to another, from one job title to the next, until as Creative Director Art at MOTOR, he suddenly found himself at the top. "Mamma Mia!" we say. In our castle, he's now the end boss for every briefing, because along with his text partner, he not only masters the multiplayer mode but the individual brushstrokes of his layouts make even the old Italian masters pale in comparison.

Claudia's quest began as a child from the Baltic Sea with the challenge that even the smell of fish negatively affected her life points. Consequently, she developed the physical and mental attributes of her character in a more inland zone—a manageable map of numerous houses and a handful of NPCs.

An ever-evolving Final Fantasy took shape: Berlin. A final boss she quickly defeated thanks to her experience points. Here, her strength, intelligence, endurance, and dexterity experienced an instant level up. We are all the more delighted that Claudia accepted our invite and now channels her magic energy into the layouts of our guild. Or in short: Wow!

Exciting contrasts thread through Daniel’s life. He grew up on a NATO military base in Belgium, yet remained a German pacifist. Later, after being turned down by the fashion design faculty in Bielefeld, he found himself in a mechanical engineering lecture hall in Paderborn. Instead of technical drawings, he preferred to sketch caricatures.

Naturally, he began training as a media designer, studied communication design, and worked as—correct!—a copywriter. His salary soon covered a cinema subscription, and his enthusiasm, a further degree. At MOTOR, we rolled out the red carpet for a real screenwriter and are now thrilled that every one of our sentences is charged with suspense.

Laura

Volker

As a true Berliner, Laura thought from a young age, "If a bear can do it, so can I." Thus, she began her tap dance training at just 7 years old. Step by step (uh baby!), she has since set the rhythm against the steroutype of the tactless capital. But while the underground scene eventually moved to cyphers, she's been nailing the right moves in business shoes right from the start.

And so, her debut in advertising quickly turned into a good seven years at Jung von Matt/Spree. After a leap into self-employment, Laura is now picking up momentum with MOTOR. Here, the entire realm of Moving Content becomes her dance floor. A magic dwells in each beginning, so knew the guy from the “tap dancing wolf” as Hermann Hesse’s classic could be translated foolishly.

100 € that no one can guess how exactly Ela lost the first two letters of her name. Chance is, it happened sometime in her youth, somewhere near Ludwigslust, before she expected higher odds for her future in Hamburg. Once there, not only her hit rate for outstanding layouts increased, but also her longing for Berlin.

As she moves to Berlin on the off-chance, she finds a lot of things she didn't bet on: a cat that turns out to be a tomcat, a half naked couple in a reserved car-sharing car. And after a few attempts, even a job she likes almost as much as her flat. Welcome to MOTOR. Bet we'll never want to let her go again.

Thomas

Volker

Born in Chile, grown up not far from Bahnhof Zoo. Without drugs, but with lots of natural energy. That's how he helped tear down the Berlin Wall when he was only seven years old. Apparently the one in his head too. Even at school he stands out by writing over the edge.

Soon after graduating from high school he ends up at the "Hamburg School of Ideas“. And from then on he gets paid for writing. A feeling he finds priceless even as an intern. No wonder that he hasn't been able to stop writing ever since. He has already worked for Audi and Mercedes - and still doesn't have a driving licence. But that won't stop him from pushing the pedals at MOTOR.

Like almost every little boy, Mario dreamed of becoming a professional footballer. Unlike most, his talent was significant enough to warrant his own player profile on Transfermarkt.de. And had everything gone as planned, the chants of "Super-Mario, olé-olé!" would now be ringing out in Berlin's Olympic Stadium, and opponents would be from Milan or Madrid, not Paderborn and Elversberg.

What few know: A torn thigh tendon can not only end playing careers but also kickstart careers as art directors. His ambition remains at Champions League level. And so, he continues to train undeterred, only now it's on a screen instead of grass. Whether it's switching positions from Photoshop to InDesign or making a deep pass through the layers of a not-yet-final layout – he's quickly ready for the next step. A regular spot at MOTOR awaits. The only catch: it won't help Hertha get promoted again either.

Can you arrive by mistake? Nathalie thinks about this when she sees the two suitcases with which she only wanted to travel from Krefeld to Berlin for a short time. Six months turned into five years. The film internship turned into a Master in Linguistics. And the two suitcases turned into a room full of really important stuff – books, plants and a piano she doesn't play.

But being here turned into wanting to get away again. So with the two suitcases she went to France. But she never really arrived there. So she came back. Less for the piano and more for the plants. And maybe a little bit for writing as well. Because that's what she does now at MOTOR. And she does it on purpose.

Henny is something very special: Not only because that is her real name. She also didn't move to Berlin, she's neither a Hippster, nor permanently high. She doesn't live in a shared flat in Neukölln, doesn't rave illegally in the Hasenheide and doesn't have any purpose-driven start-up ideas. She was born in Friedrichshain, grew up in Mahlsdorf, and calls Hellersdorf her home for years now. Without Instafilter, without tourists, without pub crawls. #paradise

She finds her life so ordinary that she doesn't even realize that this is what makes her more individual than all the New-Berliners will never be. After all, at 20 years old, she's already working in advertising for the second time. This is not a project, this is a career. In any case, we're especially happy that she's now taking the next steps with us as a working student. And we don't even have to think up a nickname for her.

It sounds like one of the great Heimatfilms: Salzburg. Sun. Beginning of spring. Frederik, youngest son of an advertising dynasty, sees the light of day. And out of the window the Alps. But from an early age he prefers to look at the peaks of advertising. Instead of Art House, he was fascinated by Art Directors. Consequently, he makes an cut – and moves to Munich, finding the role of his life as a graphic designer.

Volker

"Great masters aren't born overnight," Nikolas' parents probably thought, choosing the Venezuelan Opening for his life. Growing up as a blonde boy in Caracas, he learned early the importance of a sophisticated defense. Barely of age, a grand castling move as a knight brought him to Germany where he took advantage of open lines for a few academic intermezzos.

But to avoid ending up as an isolated pawn in an ivory tower, he quickly maneuvered himself into a strong position in the business world, too. This soon made him an attractive prospect for MOTOR. As a project manager who effortlessly brings structure to our operations, we can now enjoy our work even more royally. As the actress said to the bishop.

Straight to the point: Kerstin is different. While most people want to leave home right after graduating from school, she prefers to stay at home, in Berlin – until today. At a young age she experiences the greatest event in recent German history right where it happend. But it doesn't come as one might think: she sleeps through the fall of the Berlin Wall. Even though she lived in the immediate vicinity of Bornholmer Strasse.

And things also turned out differently when she changed jobs: while many left the advertising industry, Kerstin took the other path and went straight in. Only logical, that someone who likes to watch advertising in private simply belongs in advertising business.
And while she, unlike the others, gives the heads of MOTOR a helping hand, the team immediately took her to heart. Which was not to be expected otherwise.

Svenja

Although Hannover ends with "over," in this case, it's the beginning. Especially for Svenja. This hockey talent’s first steps were made on the Lower Saxonian astroturf. But her sporting ambition eventually led her to Berlin – to the 1st Field Hockey Bundesliga. While the trained defender dismantles opponents on weekends, she spends her weekdays in a lab, dissecting single-celled organisms. From Svenja's knack for taking things apart grew, unexpectedly, a passion for bringing things together. This strategic shift prompted her to study business communication – to connect brands and ideas as a project manager.

Our MOTOR talent scouts eventually spotted Svenja and signed her on. Since then, she's been an indispensable part of our starting lineup. Over.

Let's put it this way: Besides Mom, Dad, and Wikipedia, nobody calls Jörg "Jörg" — not even Jörg himself. Although, as a native of Erfurt, he could officially call himself a "Puffbohne," he prefers to call himself Hugo.

Understandably so, we say. And we call him Q. Like the inventor from the James Bond movies. Jörg — or rather Hugo or Q — solves impossible problems as a Digital Producer. "Conception / Consulting / Prototyping" is what his business card says. He prefers to call it tinkering, building, and fiddling. And that, of course, makes him a perfect fit for the MOTOR garage. So we rightly say: "Glad to have you here, dear Q."

Hannah

Hannah doesn't just create inspiring arrangements on the screen, but also on the plate. So, it's fair to say that the trained graphic designer and self-taught hobby chef has taste. Whatever she does, it's guided by gut feeling and the belief that the first bite is with the eye: From the way an apple is sliced to the exact temperature of a color hue; from printer paper to parchment paper; and from Photoshop filters to coffee filters. However, she only drinks one cup of coffee a day to maintain her inner color balance.

But Hannah's good taste extends far beyond the edges of the agency and culinary worlds. Music, sports, and typography serve as both her sanctuaries and sources of inspiration for new creations. In this spirit, we eagerly and hungrily await all the design delights she will continue to serve up in the future. Delicious.

"You can wear anything in Berlin." Andries didn't need to be told twice. With the bright colours of his clothes, the lace collar, the ribbons at the bottom of his sleeves, the sash and the ostrich feathers on his hat, he exceeds more gender stereotypes than any queer-feminist BDSM party in the KitKatClub. But what pleases the officer and standard bearer of the Haarlem Citizen's Guard even more: in sensitive Kreuzberg a blue flag is never a red flag.

In short, it's no surprise that after a mere 20-second collaboration, Andries decides to stop hanging out at the "National Gallery of Art" in Washington D.C. and start showing attitude at MOTOR.
